Stupid ATM – it took my MOP300!

23 October, 2008 in Living life 生活傳記 | Comments (0)

I went out for dinner yesterday so I decided to take some money out before hand. The ATM operated as usual but after I took my card, the money didn’t come out! I don’t usually select for transaction print out for environmental econony purpose, so I don’t have proof! I then checked my balance and it did deduct MOP300 from my bank! I called the 24 hours emergency hotline and report the incident. The bank said they will need to open the ATM and checked its record. If it said they have no cash in the machine then they will refund the money back to my account.. and it will take around 1 week time! Ayaa… lucky that I didn’t get a lot of money out.. but it is just so silly… why does it need to take that long? Some HK banks can do it within 1-2 days… I guess Macau is always slower… aya….

USB

No one will believe me if I say I do not own a USB.

Yes, it is true. I don’t have a USB.

I am now thinking that I should get one, just because I’m thinking of leaving my computer with my parents. If not I don’t think I will need to buy one… isn’t it ironic that I’m such a “non-computerish” person when my fiance is the computer geek? I guess that’s why we get along.. haha…

Where should I start?

9 October, 2008 in Wedding Planning 辦婚禮記 | Comments (0)

Planning a wedding is a new thing for me. Planning two weddings made it worst. With zero experience, I truely do not know where to start. I guess picking the dates are the first things. After more than enough phone calls and emails with Chris, we have settled the date! Finally!!! Australia ceremony and reception will be on the 16th of May 2009, Hong Kong reception will be on 23rd of October 2009. These two days are both in Autumn in two different place, share similar cool weather so I don’t need to worry about having two season’s outfit.

Oh, I have purchased a custom-made wedding grown, for the first time I looked with mum. I know I did a quick decision. But too many choices might not be a good thing. I might ended up not knowing what I want. I saw it, tried it on, and bought it. So quick that I didn’t believe I was signing my credit card paid slip. I bought it in the famous ‘wedding mall’ in Prince Edward, Hong Kong. It was slightly more expensive than the average price in the mall, but it is relatively cheap compare to Australia. I bought a wedding gown plus an evening dress for HKD9,500.00, the owner will give me a veil for free (I have not pick it yet). I think it is a pretty good deal. I will have my first fitting in mid-November.

I always know I will have two wedding receptions. So I have made up my mind the style of both nights. Australia one will be totally western. No red dress, no Chinese custom, just western style, with western food and wine. Also, Chris won’t see my wedding dress until I walk down the aisle. (That means I can’t share my picture of my dress here until my wedding day, sorry…) Hong Kong one will be in Chinese style. Red dress, tea ceremony, parents blessing, Chinese food (but including red wine!), and of course mahjong!! I know i won’t have time to play mahjong, but I’m sure people will enjoy the game.

There are many things are yet to be decided. I will try my best to enjoy this whole process, and not worry too much. I will go to the Kowloon wedding fair this wedding. Looking forward to it!

Lucky Me

4 October, 2008 in Just thinking 亂想 | Comments (0)

I’m a lucky girl.

Life has been easy for me, thanks to my parents. Nothing major has brought me down.

I was a wanted child. Always feel loved and cherished.

I am an only child. Always got things that I wanted & needed when I asked, or even not asked.

I am a Chinese only child. Parents plan my life so far, which I never suffer.

People always said “Mistakes and hard road makes people grow”. Sometime I wonder. My life has been so smooth that it hardly has chance for me to make mistakes, is that means that I hardly grow? Has my personalisty not been shaped? Will I be ready to handle big impact of my life since I do not have much experience? I feel green even I’m almost 30. I am well too protected and still live in the green house. Good soil and warm sun has protected me for almost 30 years and suddenly I’m scared of the outside world. ‘But the outside world is so challenging’, I thought. I natively hope that the world will take it easy on me. Let me learn step by step and tackle each problems with my loved ones. I natively hope…

Melamine

1 October, 2008 in Just thinking 亂想 | Comments (1)

Melamine is one of the hottest topic in news lately. It seems like a joke today – the China National Day.

I just watched the news today, it was showing how the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao celebrate the National Day… A Beijing student was interviewed saying that he is so proud to be a Chinese because “Spaceship No 7″ was just came back from space and showed how China has such a high level of technology… blah blah blah… then the next news was talking about Melamine; that more products has been tested and found very high level of melamine and they will have to collect back all products from shops and burnt them. Then the next news was saying most of the Government Clinics are open today (public holiday) so parents can take their children for body check to make sure they do not have high level of melamine the their body…. see, I think it is a joke.

No one will now drink milk products from China, no one will now eat biscuits or chocolate products from China, even some Western brands who import milk extracts as part of their ingretdients are also be affected. I now do not know what to do with my cereal. I now can not enjoy my cheese toast, becuase I do not want to risk to buy any diary products… it sucks!

So China might impressed the world with the 2008 Beijing Olympic, it also scared the hell of the world with their level of food control right after that… wait until they see how they make fake eggs, fake soy sauce, fake meat dumplings… indeed, chinese technologies are so advance that we had no idea how they did it.
