M to H

One of the missions that I had completed was to downsize my engagement ring. I had been wearing it in my middle finger and it was still too big.

Chris measured my own ring before he custom-made the engagement ring. But he forgot that I wore my ring in my left middle finger! It was so big that I once drop it on the floor when I was in the public toilet! Lucky there were no one around so I could quickly finished my business and got out and pick up my ring.. phew!

I didn’t think that my fingers are THAT tiny, but we need to have it downsize in 6 sizes!!! From M to H.

And now I can wear it in my left ring finger, where it should be :)

I’m back in Canberra…

It is good to be back, had a drive from Sydney to Canberra and I miss driving. Canberra seems the same, which is good so I can easily to fit in again. Went to dinner with Chris, Carol, Allan and Marko for Marko’s belated birthday celebration. We had German food. That was awesome. But I’m watching what I eat because I will be Trang’s bridemaid in about one week time. I need to fit into the dress.. hahaha…

It is good to spend time with Chris too… obviously he missed me a lot… hehehehe… :P (I miss him too)

I will post some pics later… gotta go… Oh, just had the yummy cheese on toast with bbq sauce for breakfast (Chris made it for me :) )… so yummy…. melting cheese…. love it~

2? Could be 2 and half.. it is depends if I sleeps on the plane… does that count?

It is getting more excited. I will need to repack my luggage again… just got the message from mum that I need to bring different bags of tea for Aunty… well… I don’t mind doing the unpack and repack again. Just that I hope I won’t miss other things to bring.

Luckily I bought the new luggage, 24″… it is bigger than the one that initially wanted to take… Thank God. I can’t believe there are quite a lot of things that I need to bring… well… I will have to say… because I’m a woman… hahaha

Okay, time to dry my hair and sleep now.

Good night

A good book

I finished reading a book last night. It is called 《親愛的安德烈》(translation: Dear Andie)

I’m sure many people from Hong Kong have heard this book. The authors of this book are a mother (Mrs Lung) and son (Andie). A Chinese mother with Taiwanese background and a 18-year-old son with German background. The book is made up from their letters. Mother trying to understand her son.. his world, his way of thinking, and his inner world.

For me, it is interesting because I understand how both of them think… but also hard to debate who is right or wrong. Andie expressed how the young people in our generation feels when we have no idea how to put in words, especially he got a Chinese mother who are very traditional, but he, on the other side, influence by the European culture and education. The way of thinking is similar to mine. I wanted to voice my opinion but sometimes was limited because of the Chinese tradition. But Andie did it. He voiced his thoughts and opinion honestly in the letter.

On the other hand, Mrs Lung expressed her thought as a mother who protects & provide for her children. It made me understand more about how my mum thinks and explain why she reacts the way she does. And I know, when I read this book again when I have become someone’s mother, it will give me another side of the message. As a caring mother, Mrs Lung shows her wisdom and understanding towards his mature son. And I’m sure every caring mothers have the same degrees of wisdom and understanding to give to their children.

I will pass this book to my mum to read. Hope it will give some meanings to her and will understanding my way of thinking… and provide her wisdom to me.
