Interesting Chain letter

30 July, 2008 in Just thinking 亂想 | Comments (2)

I have received an email today at work, I think it is interesting but true and want to share with others… some of you might already received my FW: email today :)

Below is the content, feel free to check out in Google as it told you to…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope this doesn’t cause too much offence
THOUGHT THIS WAS WELL WORTH READING…..  .
Living in the Detroit area I can concur with this, we have more Muslims in our neighbourhood  and they are very active in the schools
preaching all the time about their “rights” and how tolerant we should be of their faith.
However toleration is a one way street with them.  We are to learn about Ramadan, etc.  but they are not to learn about Easter or Christmas.
What is below is very true.  ”In God We Trust”
The Basics of Islam
This is a must read — it’s short but Very informative!
The Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion per capita in the  United States , especially in the minority races!  Allah or Jesus?
 by Rick Mathes
Last month I attended my annual training session that’s required for maintaining my state prison security clearance.  During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who each explained  of their beliefs.  I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say.
The Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam complete with a video.  After the presentations, time was provided for questions and  answers.
When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Imam and asked: “Please, correct me if I’m wrong, but I understand that most
Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world.  And, that by killing an infidel, which is a command to all Muslims, they are assured of a place in heaven..  If that’s the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?”
There was no disagreement with my statements and without hesitation, he replied, “Non-believers! ”
I responded, “So, let me make sure I have this straight.  All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can go to Heaven.  Is that correct?”
The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just gotten caught with his hand in the cookie jar.  He sheepishly replied, “Yes.”
I then stated, “Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine Pope John Paul commanding all Catholics to kill those not of your faith or Dr.Stanley ordering Protestants to do the same in order to go to Heaven!”
The Imam was speechless.  I continued, “I also have a problem with being your friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers  to kill me.  Let me ask you a question.  Would you rather have your Allah who tells you to kill me in order to go to Heaven or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to Heaven and He wants you to be with me?”
You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his head. Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the “Diversification” training seminar were not happy with Rick’s way of dealing with the Islamic Imam and exposing the truth about the Muslim’s beliefs.
I think everyone in the world should be required to read this, but with the liberal justice system, liberal media, and the ACLU etc, there is no way this will be widely publicized.
This is a true story and the author, Rick Mathes, is a well-known leader in prison ministry (you can check him out on Google).
9 June 08: Next City Toronto
We caught another Continental flight to Toronto at 2:20pm, so we didn’t do much in the morning. We had a very nice home-made breakfast and then just walked to the nearby shopping area with my aunt Elaine.
I found something very interesting, this could be very normal to other people… one types of milk in US is half and half… but Australia, we don’t have that.. we only have full cream, skimmed milk or low-fat milk… and “half and half”, usually related to beer – half draught and half dark ale… beer and milk? Different huh?
Flight from NY to Toronto was easy and fast. We got picked up by my Uncle and my cousin Mandy. We then headed to have dinner straight away and meeting other relatives there.. we all were so hungry and tired…
And that was my first time to meet Little Jia also – Mandy’s son… well.. Little Jia is a dog.. hahahaha…. Little Jia is so cute, so little.. fun to play with…
8 June 08: Outlet Shopping
Yum Cha → Outlet Shopping → Dinner
Here for photos…
Finally I got to meet my cousin Erica today, as well as Steven, Sydney and Alex. Actually I have not meet Paul and Erica in person before this trip. It was good to finally meet them and get to know them. My niece and nephew have such a opposite personality. Alex is such a people little boy. He is happy to let people to hug him… but Sydney is a little shy, slow to warm to people.
After yum cha, Uncle took us to one of the Long Island outlets for shopping. Tanger Outlet is so huge and we only could concentrate few main stores… the first one of course was coach. Coach was so much cheaper than in Hong Kong. But I only ended up bought a business card holder, and mum got a handbag. Then we shopped more in DKNY and other stores…
When you shopped, time flies… and very quickly, it was dinner time… we went to this very nice Italian restaurant for dinner. The food was very nice and the service was superb. After dinner, we drove for around an hour back home… we then visited Uncle’s house for the first time. My dad loves cats and he also had fun playing with Uncle’s two cats… we chatted a little and took some pictures then we went home to rest…
____
I have realised why people said Hong Kong is the heaven for shopping. Although we went to the outlets but the stuff there were not as cheap as I expected. The bargain items were only limited to few American local brands. I guess that’s normal as American tax is heavy. I didn’t buy any clothes, only bags… bags are really really cheap.. hahahaha
7 June 08: MAMMA MIA!
Time Square → m&m shop → Broadway Show → Dinner with relatives → Night view Time Square → Brooklyn Bridge
Click HERE to see the photos…
Second full day in NYC, we arrived in Time Square and took a walk to the Broadway. We managed to shop in m&m stores and Hersheys. We had lunch at this famous American pub at the corner of Broadway. The serve of the dishes are just huge!!! Even drinks are big. I guess the supersize me does not only happens in McDonald, it is EVERYWHERE!
We then arrived at the theater that showing MAMMA MIA! The show is just awesome. It is very different to the traditional opera. It is so much fun and laugher! I know that is a movie of MAMMA MIA coming out as well.. must watch! Looking forward to it…
After the show, we went home and rest, then we went out again for 2nd round of relatives dinner of this trip. Then we went out for the night view of the NYC. Parking is horrible in the City area. I was in need of going to do number one but it just took too long to find a parking. I used my entire strength to concentrate to control my ‘muscle’ so I won’t make a fool of myself… and of course, I didn’t make a fool of myself.. haha
By the way, I have noticed something during the stay in NYC. Although America is one of the most wealthy counties in the current world, there are some very little things are not so advance. As I have just arrived at the airport, just like many people I went to the toilet after landing. I found two ‘not-so-advance’ things in the toilet already. Firstly, the toilet door has ‘gap’… many of you might notice that the toilet doors in Hong Kong has a extra fitting to ‘fill in’ between the door gap and the partition, but most of the America’s toilet does not have that… so the people who is lining up outside and see what you are doing inside between that gap… not so advance… Secondly, the toilet paper… 1 ply? I haven’t see that for ages… serious, that’s America? I was a little disappointed on the American toilet… can’t compare to the Japanese one… no kidding…
6 June 08: Sightseeing
Central Park → 5th Av → Paul’s workplace → Statue of Liberty → Ellis Island → Ground Zero → Wall St → Argentina Steak Dinner
Click HERE to my Gallery…
To prepare a full day sightseeing, we had a good rest and also sleep in, we first went to Central Park by train. The weather was good, not raining, and not to sunny.. We just walked a tiny corner of the Central Park, if we want to walk through it, it probably will take around 3 hours.
After Central Park, we walked down to the 5th Ave, passing by the Plaza Hotel – one of the most famous Hotel in NYC. The street in NYC is huge. There are many people walking by but you hardly feel crowded. The road is also very big, a busy street usually has around three to four lines. We walked through all the big branded shops… and we visit my cousin, Paul, at his work ‘Scott’s Flowers‘. I didn’t know that Paul is famous in his industry. He has been introduced by few Japanese flower and wedding magazines…
We then had a very American lunch at this cafe. Food was average, just like any other America food. Other than that, the only thing that I was not used to tipping. America needs to tip up to 15% of the total bill. It is difficult to do the calculation already, but you also need to make sure you have the change to do the tips! My God… but luckily, I didn’t need to do the tip coz it wasn’t me to pay :P
After lunch, we went to the Statue of Liberty by ferry. It was a good day for outdoor activities… before the ferry ride, we needed to go through all the security checking. It was new after 911… the ferry ride was around 30 mins. When we were about to leave the boat, there was a little incident on the other ferry, apparently the what ferry which was from New Jersey found a suspicious unknown package. In less than 5 mins, all the polices just came from everywhere… basically from the land as well as water police. I must say, the level of security is very high in NYC after 911… after of course the package was nothing and we were free to land very shortly. The Liberty Lady was just exactly like what we see in TV or picture… we didn’t go up because we have plenty of sightseeing to do after…
After a little snack (actually not so little..), we were heading to Ellis Island, a little Island next to the Statue of Liberty. Ellis Island is now a museum, showing the history of immigrant when they immigrated into the United Status during 1892 to 1924. It was good to know some of the history of the States.
The next place to visit was Ground Zero. It is now under construction for new building. The place was huge, many tourist were trying to take picture through the fence – I was one of them. There were 2 men talking to tourist about what they see on the street on 11th of September.
Wall Street is one of the must-go-place in NYC, especially for my dad – a stock player, he said he must go and find the golden bull. He said the golden bull is the symbol of the Wall Street…
It was a long day, after Wall Street, five of us were already exhausted. We went back to Queens to have dinner. Uncle took us to try Argentina Steak, which is very famous in South America. It was very different, the meat was mostly smoke & fried and eat with the garlic basil olive oil sauce.. the sauce was very good. We almost finished a whole bottle!! Haha…
That was my second day of my holiday… full on huh?
