Packing

26 May, 2008 in Living life 生活傳記 | Comments (0)

Exact 10 days away from my trip. I have already took my new luggage out and started to make my plan to pack. Most of you might know, I like to plan things. Enjoying the pleasure of planning. I know it is kinda weird but it creates some sort of comfort for me, because it will minimise any panic I will face on the actual date. Some of my friends had commented “You don’t need to pack that early maaa…”

Well, there are MANY things to do before you can start packing:

- Ironing (I hate ironing and I will do anything to avoid it. So it probably will take me a week to do the job which only take an hour for others)

- Washing (I don’t mind washing, but Macao is a very humid place, it is damn hard to get anything dry)

- Matching (Since I have clothes in both Macao and Hong Kong, I will need to arrange the “look” that I want to wear and decide which items of clothing I will take)

I love my new luggage, it is huge and able to fit in a skinny teenager in there. (Not that I’m thinking to fit one in there though) I learn my lesson from my Japan trip last year. I need a luggage that can move without pulling from an angle… that’s one of those. I hope you know what I’m talking about.

I’m not so looking forward to the long flight. The longest that I’ve been through was 14 hours. I think it will be 16 hours this time, from Hong Kong to New York. I can feel my bloated and cramped legs by just imagine the hours on the plane. I hope I can sleep. (or they must have some good movies on board!)

Reply to Danny: Yes, I have been to Amsterdam. I think it is quite an expensive place to travel!

Humming

22 May, 2008 in Living life 生活傳記 | Comments (1)

As I have written in my previous post I like to listen to music when I’m doing things, even I need to concentrate, it doesn’t bother me.

As most of you know if you work in the quiet office, sometimes it is inconvenience to listen music, because people might not like it. Since I have moved my desk, I have such problem. So I cannot turn on my music as normal volume, or even sometimes I feel I shouldn’t turn it on at all… When there is no music, I sometimes hum without realising it… I has been pointed out from my next door colleague, she told me not to hum, because it will give her headache. I tried not to, but I guess I was lost guard today again… I hummed… my next door colleague asked me “Can you please turn on your music?”… I realised that I was humming, and I laughed so bad… it was funny, coz she is now lower her standard… I immidiately turn on my music and of course hum with the music la… hahahahahahaha….

:D

Goose Bumps

16 May, 2008 in Living life 生活傳記 | Comments (1)

Had the coolest goose bumps ever last night…

I’m sure the other 5000+ audience had the same goose bumps as me. It was one of the finest performance on live, it was better than Beyonce and Maroon 5. He is James Blunt.

Love the way he performed… when he sang No Bravery, he asked the lightman to take the spotlight off him so we, the audiance, can ‘feel’ the song… when everyone is so high, he jumped down to the audience crowd and ran around the place… he’s also funny, he joked that his next goal is to have the world #1 divorce song since he already got the #1 one wedding and funeral songs…

The atmosphere was great especially all audiances have a pair of ‘blow up clappers’… it was fun and kind of different, because we normally have that in ball games, not concerts.

Went back to Macao after the concert last night, it was late but very worth it. Once you have been to the international artist’s concert, you won’t go back to the Hong Kong local one… who wants to listen to out of tune performance?

The best mistake I’ve ever made 最美麗的錯誤

A lovely song by Joanna Wong…

One step too far
All at once I’m falling
Just like a star
I’m burning for you
Thought I could keep myself from feeling this way
I guess that was my first mistake

Cause suddenly I’m walking’
Down a dark street to your door
Wanting you is driving’ me insane
And now my feet are standing
Where they’ve never stood before
Guided by a twist of fate

If I lose myself with you tonight
Fall apart or hold on tight
Wrong or right
I won’t be afraid
Cause ever if my heart should break
You’d be the best mistake I ever made

I’m in your room
Now there’s no denying’
What’s in your eyes
When I look at you
Two shadows talking’ but they don’t make a sound
Words have lost their meaning now

And the air has turned electric
Now I know the time is right
To put myself into your hands
And suddenly I’m shaking’
As your fingers touch my skin
I don’t need to understand

And if tomorrow proves me wrong
I swear I don’t belong
I know I’ll carry on

So I will lose myself and bare my soul
Take this chance cause heaven knows
I’m so far gone, my choice is made
And even if my heart should break

When I lose myself with you tonight
Fall apart or hold on tight
Wrong or right
I’ll always say
You’re the best mistake I ever made

Self Cooking 3 – International

1 May, 2008 in Food Paradise 美食樂園 | Comments (3)

Had our third session of Self Cooking night on the 30th of April. Took an advance of the Public Holiday on the following day, so we don’t need to worry about having a late night.

Our theme this time is ‘international’, since different people want to cook different things. We also got new people joining us this time – Michelle from the leasing team and Steve from the construction design. There were 7 of us and the dishes are:

Vernette – Malaysian Curry Chicken & Red Wine with Japanese Plum liquor

Adrian – Potato and Leek Soup

Jane – Lotus Leave Steam Rice

SK – Black Sesame Rice Balls with peanuts powder

Michelle – Chicken Wings with Cola sauce

Mendy – Garlic Bread & Cheese Fondue with broccoli

———————————-

After dinner, we had the most interesting conversation ever about horrible experiences with insects & yucky animals… that’s including how I asked my neighbor to kill a big mother spider & millions of baby spiders flying out in Australia; Michelle left a rat died in a toilet bowl with urine; Vernette’s experience with huge flying cockroaches in Malaysia… hmm… very pleasant!
