DAY TWO – 22nd Oct 2007
TSUKIJI (TSUKIJISHIJO 築地市場) → UENO 上野

Vernette and I are food lovers, our first morning in Japan must go to Tsukiji famous fish market. We got up early and had very little breakfast at the hotel and off we went catching the train to Tsukiji! When we arrived, we started to 掃街 (buy food on the street and eat!) We had eel, shellfish, oysters, green tea, seaweed… hahaha, please check out my gallery for more pictures!

We shopped, ate, shopped more… until 1pm then we went to the other side of the fish market for some real sushi. We chose this very old restaurant , it has 150 years history and it is one of the oldest restaurant in Tsukiji.

We queued up for an hour coz this restaurant only has 10 seats. Unfortunately, we are not allow to take photos in the restaurant so there is no yummy sushi pictures to share with you all… but all I can say is that waiting for one hour is soooooo worth it. Vernette initially wanted to share the set lunch since she had been eating on the street (not so hungry) but when she finished her own set lunch, she wants to have another one set!!!

After lunch and more shopping then we headed to Ueno. We found a locker in Ueno JR station to store our shopping bags and start all over again!!! Ueno is a very home town area, which has busy street nearby the station. We walked around and shop more. We were so tired by the dinner time and we decided to go back to the hotel to rest first. So we went back to Shinjuku.

It was after 10pm when we got out again. We wanted to have something quick coz we were starving! Ramen!!! We chose this place without a very grand fitout. Very home style and most of the eaters are Japanese men. The soup was delicious and we also can order more noodles without extra charge. But I was so full that I’m just happy with one bowl.

We also had dessert in our hotel room. It was the black sesame tofu that we bought in the fish market. We poured the Japanese Black Honey over it and we started eating!!! (No~~ photo first~~)

Our all-about-food second day ended with two very full stomach.. haha…

Here I come Japan…. my exciting Day 1

Hi friends,

I finally returned back to Macao from Japan, It was a busy trip. No extra time for me to go to internet cafe… anyway, here is my highlight of my trip…

DAY ONE – 21st Oct 2007
HONG KONG → NARITA AIRPORT 成田国際空港 → SHINJUKU 新宿 → HARAJUKU 原宿

Vernette and I bought a 4D/3N Tokyo package from Hong Kong. We hate to follow tour, I personally don’t think following tour for the whole trip is a good idea. It is not my style anyway. We extended our flight to 7 days and take advantage on our self-planned accommodation… please read on

Vernette and I woke up very early to catch our flight, 8:15am. Luckily I have checked in online the day before, if not we won’t be able to sit together. The flight is very full. The flight is smooth and we arrived safely in Narita Airport. We initially wanted to take the cheapest way to town but we discovered there is a promotion going on with the Narita Express and we go ahead with that. (3500 yen = one way from airport to town in express train + 2000 yen worth of Suica rechargeable card)

We took awhile to find our hotel (Shinjuku Prince Hotel), it is right on top of the Shinjuku Station but since the station is so big and busy, we kinda lost our way. We ended up asking a police to direction. We finally found our way and check-into our room. We got warned by our workmates before about this hotel (famous hotel for Hong Kong people to stay) They told us that its room is tiny and can’t even fit two opened luggages… but guess what? Our room is huge!!! Out of our expectation… this room is spacey and stylish. We actually booked for a Semi-Double room (which is one 4 feet double bed) but we got upgraded into a Twin room… we were blessed!

We were so hungry so we bought some rice roll from the convenience store. We didn’t care the culture difference and ate on the street :P

We then headed to Harajuku to do some shopping and meet up with Vernette’s Japanese teacher for some BBQ!

The food there is great. We ordered the limited Japanese Beef rib, only 4 pieces for 1000 yen. Quite expensive for that. But overall, that was yummy…

After dinner, we returned to our hotel and rest, it was our first day.

著鞋的問題

19 October, 2007 in Around the world 一起去旅行 | Comments (3)

... 好煩呀 ...

>_<

Shoes?

What kind of shoes will you wear when you travelling? Many people will answer “runners”… but… going to Japan (Tokyo) wor… how???   =_=

When selecting travelling shoes, you will need to consider the following:

1) Comfortable

2) Easy to match clothing

Only because going to Japan…

3) Stylish

4) Fashionable

5) need to be light (put them into the luggage when you buy new pairs)

So Annoying~~~~!

>_<

A trial meal before trip

My co-worker, Ellen, wants to have sushi so we went. (Vernette & I actually don’t care going or not coz we are going to have the “real” thing in few days :P ) Five of us had so much food and laughed so loud that my voice is still “sexy” after my flu (I get deep sexy voice when I have flu/cough…)

We ordered “automatic” again – it is a special thing we do in Nagoyaka Tei 和花亭 - 澳門because we know the head chef. We don’t need to “order”, we just tell the head chef the number of people we have and then he will make us all the most fresh and custom sushi (some of them are not even in the menu!!) If you have visited my facebook, I’m sure you have seem a lot of the photos that I took from 和花亭… however I only took one this time… I was so full by the time I ate that, but it was soooooo nice. :D

I’m flying out on this Sunday 21st with Vernette and I’m sure it will be great fun, I will update my blog if I have computer access, if not I will just update it when I get back.

:)

Happy Belated Birthday Dad!

My parents and I went out last Saturday for dinner, I was in Macau last weekend so couldn’t celebrate my dad birthday with him. So I took him out to 太湖海鮮酒家 in Tsimshatsui. It was a nice restaurant. I went there for yumsha before but never tried for dinner. The food was great and we enjoyed it very much. :D

太湖 has a lot of signature dishes and most of them have won awards. I’ve tried three of them and they are very nice. I was happy to pay for what I eat in this place.
